Terms & Conditions

These Terms and conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Participants of the Promotion agree to be bound by these Terms and conditions.

Terms and conditions for A-Plan clients who have purchased insurance through A-Plan and are eligible to receive a A-Plan Mastercard® (The offer).

  1. Eligibility: The promotion is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of the Promoter and Administrator.
  2. The Offer (A-Plan Mastercard): The offer for those who qualify and complete the steps below to participate is The A-Plan Mastercard. This is valid for 12 months from the month the card is dispatched. For full A-Plan Mastercard Terms and conditions please click here.
  3. The Offer (local discounts): The A-Plan Mastercard entitles those who qualify to discounts at businesses local to their A-Plan branch or other A-Plan branches that are listed on the promotional website for 12 months from when the card was dispatched. Access to local discounts will expire on the expiry date stated on your A-Plan Mastercard. Discounts can be redeemed by showing the A-Plan Mastercard in store at check out. Payment in store at local participating businesses offering a discount can be made using the A-Plan Mastercard or by using alternative payment methods. Discounts at local businesses can still be redeemed once funds on the A-Plan Mastercard have been spent. Participating local businesses offering a discount will be listed on the promotional website
  4. How to participate:
    1. To participate in the Offer, you must have completed one of the following criteria to qualify for the A-Plan Mastercard:
      • Have become a new car, home or van insurance client of A-Plan by taking out a car, home or van insurance policy for the first time. This only applies to clients taking out a personal car, home or van policy with A-Plan for the first time. Depending on the offers currently available, clients who already hold home insurance are not precluded from being new car or van insurance clients and vice versa. For home, this offer is available on buildings, contents or combined building and contents with a minimum premium of £200 (excluding enhancements and optional extras). Excludes properties with subsidence, flood or theft claims in the last 12 months. On car and van, there is a minimum premium of £250 (excluding enhancements and option extras).
      • Have taken out a new car, home or van insurance policy in addition to their existing A-Plan car, home or van insurance policy. The new policy must be in force for a minimum duration of 14 days. For home, this offer is available on buildings, contents or combined building and contents with a minimum premium of £200 (excluding enhancements and optional extras). On car and van, there is a minimum premium of £250 (excluding enhancements and optional extras).
      • Have recommended another client to A-Plan who does not have an existing A-Plan policy. The new policy must be in force for a minimum duration of 14 days. The premium for the new policy taken out must be a minimum of £150.
      • Have had a home insurance renewal quote that A-Plan haven't been able to beat (£50 card due if A-Plan cannot beat the renewal).

      The value of the Mastercard is dependent on which criteria is fulfilled and the branch. A full list of the offers available at each branch is available here. Those who have qualified will be sent an email confirming the value of the prepaid Mastercard they are eligible for. This will contain a link to the reward landing page (www.aplanreward.com/register) asking them to enter their email address and register their name, postal address and date of birth. Clients must complete the required details and set up a password within 30 days of receiving the email in order to receive their A-Plan Mastercard.

    2. Within 3 working days of receiving the client registration data, the A-Plan Mastercard will be sent to the confirmed postal address along with an email providing instructions on how to activate the A-Plan Mastercard and obtain the chip and PIN code. Clients should allow 10 working days from registering their details to receive their A-Plan Mastercard.
    3. Clients visit the link to the A-Plan Mastercard activation site in their email and enter their email address and password to login. Clients then enter their card number and activation code found on the card carrier and then clicks through to display their PIN. The A-Plan Mastercard is then ready to use. Clients must activate their A-Plan Mastercard and redeem their chip and PIN code within 30 days of receiving their email. The A-Plan Mastercard and access to local discounts is valid for 12 months from card dispatch.
    4. Clients can log into the portal at any time to view their balance and transaction history, and to view their PIN again if forgotten.
  5. Terms and conditions for redeeming discounts at local participating businesses:

  6. It is the responsibility of the client to make use of the local discounts available. Discounts at local participating businesses can only be redeemed for 12 months following the month the A-Plan Mastercard was dispatched. Access to local discounts expire on the date detailed on your A-Plan Mastercard.
  7. Clients will need to show their A-Plan Mastercard at local participating businesses in order to redeem the discounts.
  8. The listing of participating local businesses where clients can redeem a discount are subject to change and their terms and conditions will apply. Clients are to refer to the website for the most up to date listings. Full details of participating local businesses at which clients can redeem a discount can be found here.
  9. The Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the purchaser or other bearer, or accept any liability for (a) any non-acceptance by a participating local business of the A-Plan Mastercard or (b) any inability by the bearer to use the A-Plan Mastercard properly or at all or (c) the contents, accuracy or use of the venue listing, nor will any of them be liable for any personal loss or injury occurring at the participating venues, and (d) TLC, its agents and distributors do not guarantee the quality and/or availability of the services offered by the participating venues and cannot be held liable for any resulting personal loss or damage. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
  10. General Terms

  11. The A-Plan Mastercard can be spent at any retailer that accepts Mastercard.
  12. The A-Plan Mastercard cannot be used at an ATM to remove funds.
  13. When using the A-Plan Mastercard at UK Retailers, if the purchase is more than the card balance, first pay the difference with another form of payment and then charge up to the amount of funds available. Not all merchants accept split transactions. If clients do try to spend more than the credit on their card the transaction will be declined and £0.30 will be deducted from the balance each time.
  14. It is the responsibility of the client to use the funds on the A-Plan Mastercard before the expiry date.
  15. An original A-Plan Mastercard only will be accepted. Photocopied, scanned or damaged A-Plan Mastercards® will not be accepted. An A-Plan Mastercard must be shown in store in order to receive the discount at participating local businesses.
  16. The A-Plan Mastercard is not for re-sale, cannot be actioned or exchanged and is not transferable.
  17. The Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or accept liability for lost, stolen or damaged A-Plan Mastercards®. Lost or stolen A-Plan Mastercards® will not be replaced.
  18. The Promoter reserves the right to investigate and undertake all such action, as is reasonable, to protect itself against fraudulent or invalid claims including, without limitation, to require purchasers to provide further verification as to proof of purchase. In addition, the Promoter reserves the right to reject those claims which it considers, in its absolute discretion, are fraudulent or invalid.
  19. Your claim will be deemed invalid if (including but not limited to) you;
    • reside outside of the UK
    • Are not an A-Plan client
    • Have not registered your details within 30 days of receiving your email
    • Have not activated your A-Plan Mastercard and redeemed your chip and PIN code within 30 days of receiving your email with instructions on how to do this
    • Have failed in any way to otherwise comply with these terms and conditions as determined by The Promoter in its sole discretion

  21. Redeeming The Offer is deemed acceptance of these Terms and conditions.
  22. The A-Plan Mastercard® is issued by Paysafe Financial Services Limited pursuant to a licence by Mastercard International. Paysafe Financial Services Limited is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under the Electronic Money Regulations 2011 (FRN: 900015) for the issuing of electronic money and payment instruments. Mastercard and the Mastercard brand mark are registered trademarks of Mastercard International.
  23. The Promoter and the Administrator reserves the right to replace the offer with one of equal or greater value in the event of unavailability due to circumstances beyond its control.
  24. The Promoter reserves the right to change the Terms and conditions, and void, cancel, suspend or amend the promotion where it becomes necessary to do so in the event of circumstances beyond its reasonable control. The Promoter may end the promotion by giving at least three months’ notice by email and on the reward website.
  25. The Promoter shall use data submitted by purchasers for the purposes of operating the Promotion only, unless otherwise stated in the claim details. By submitting a claim, purchasers consent to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of the Promotion. The Promoter’s privacy policy is available here.
  26. The Promoter’s decision regarding any aspect of the promotion is final and binding.
  27. Any question concerning the legal interpretation of the rules will be based on English law and the Courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
