You will qualify for this reward if you are a new A-Plan client and have purchased car, van or home insurance for the first time, or if you have taken out a new insurance policy in addition to your existing A-Plan car, van or home insurance policy. You can also qualify for this reward if you’re an existing A-Plan client who has recommended someone else to A-Plan who has then gone on to open an A-Plan policy for the first time. You may also qualify for this reward if you have had a home insurance renewal quote that A-Plan haven’t been able to beat (£50 card due if A-Plan cannot beat the renewal).
The reward is for qualifying A-Plan clients who complete the steps to receive an A-Plan prepaid Mastercard to the value of £25 or £50. The A-Plan prepaid Mastercard will also entitle you to 12 months access to offers and discounts local to your A-Plan branch.
You will know whether you can qualify for a £25 or £50 Mastercard by the email that is sent to you to tell you that you are eligible for an A-Plan Mastercard. This email will make clear what value card you qualify for.
You can claim your A-Plan Mastercard if you have completed the following steps:
1) You will need to have purchased car, van or home insurance for the first time through your A-Plan branch, or have recommended someone else who has gone on to purchase either car, van or home insurance for the first time with A-Plan. Then you will receive an email containing a link to the reward registration page (www.aplanreward.com) where you will need to register your name, email address, postal address and date of birth. You will also need to create a password which you will need to enter every time you visit the site. The registration reward page needs to be completed within 30 days of receiving your email in order for your A-Plan Mastercard to be sent out.
2) Within three working days of registering, your A-Plan Mastercard will be sent to your confirmed postal address along with an email which will have instructions on how to activate your Mastercard and obtain your chip and PIN code. Please allow 10 working days from registering to receive your A-Plan Mastercard
3) When you have received your A-Plan Mastercard you will need to visit the link to the Mastercard activation site in your email and enter your email address and password to log in and activate your card. You will have 30 days to activate your card from when you receive your email with instructions on how to activate. Enter your card number and activation code found on your card carrier in order to activate your card and display your PIN. You will need to activate your A-Plan Mastercard and redeem your PIN within 30 days of receiving the email.
4) Once activated, your A-Plan Mastercard is now ready to spend and you will have 12 months access to local discounts!
Yes, you may be eligible for multiple A-Plan Mastercards if you have taken out another personal car or home insurance policy in addition to your current policy, or if you have recommended multiple new clients to A-Plan. You will know if you are due another A-Plan Mastercard as you will be informed by the branch manager at your local A-Plan branch when you are taking out the insurance policy or recommending a friend. If you are due another A-Plan Mastercard you will receive an email asking you to register for it in the same way as previous cards.
Yes you will need to follow the same process and register to receive your card, but as we already have your details all you’ll need to do is enter in your email address on www.aplanreward.com/register and the same details you submitted when registering for your first card will pre-populate. Please check these details are still correct and submit the registration. If you would like to change any details at this stage, please do so before submitting the form.
If you have forgotten your password you will need to click ‘forgot password’ on the login page. You will then be sent an email with a link to reset your password.
Unfortunately you won’t be able to redeem your A-Plan Mastercard outside of the 30 day activation period.
To activate your A-Plan Mastercard simply visit the link in your email, log in using your email address and the password you set up when you registered and follow the steps on screen to activate your card. You will have 30 days from receiving this email to activate your card. You will need to enter the card number printed on your card and the activation code which can be found on the letter accompanying your card and then click the ‘Activate my card’ button. Your card will now be activated.
You will be able to reveal your PIN once you've clicked the 'Activate my card' button and are taken to a new page where you will need to click to 'Reveal PIN'. Your PIN will then be displayed and you can enjoy your shopping.
Once you have received your A-Plan Mastercard you can visit www.aplanreward.com to log back in to access your PIN, balance and transaction history.
You will have 12 months from the month your card was dispatched to spend the funds on your A-Plan Mastercard. Your card will expire on the date shown on the card so make sure you enjoy spending your funds before that date.
You can spend your A-Plan Mastercard anywhere that displays the Mastercard sign.
Yes you can spend your A-Plan Mastercard both online and in store.
No, the A-Plan MasterCard cannot be used at an ATM to withdraw funds.
When using your A-Plan Mastercard, if the purchase is more than the card balance, first pay the difference with another form of payment and then charge up to the amount of funds available. Not all merchants accept split transactions though so please check in advance. If you do spend more than the credit on your card the transaction will be declined and £0.30 will be deducted from your balance each time. Please visit your account page regularly to check your card balance.
The A-Plan Mastercard is not a credit card, it is a prepaid Mastercard which you can use until the funds on it have been spent.
If you try to spend more than the amount remaining on your card, £0.30 will be deducted from your balance for every failed attempt. If you are purchasing an item which costs more than the balance on your card, please ask the cashier to split the payment so that the transaction on your A-Plan Mastercard does not exceed the amount remaining.
As well as rewarding our clients with an A-Plan Mastercard that can be spent almost anywhere, we are also giving you access to local discounts at a number of stores, restaurants and services close to your A-Plan branch! Being on the high street ourselves, we believe in supporting local trade. This discount card is our way of promoting local businesses and offering our clients great value too.
Once you have received and activated your A-Plan Mastercard, all you need to do is simply show your card to participating local businesses to get your discount. Once you have shown your card at the till, you will be given the discounted price or offer.
Yes you can use the discounts available to you as many times as you want by showing your A-Plan Mastercard in store.
You will have 12 months to use your A-Plan Mastercard to get local discounts. The expiry date detailed on your card is the final date you can use your card to get local discounts.
To discover the businesses that are offering discounts locally, you will need to visit www.aplanreward.com/localdiscounts and select your local A-Plan branch from the drop down list. Then you can browse the businesses local to you that are offering a discount. Of course you can also benefit from discounts local to other A-Plan branches if you happen to be away from home.
The types of local discounts will vary depending on the local business, please visit www.aplanreward.com/localdiscounts to find out the discounts available.
You are more than welcome to spend locally and pay with your A-Plan Mastercard but you are not obliged to. All you need to do is show your A-Plan Mastercard, then you can pay using any payment method the business accepts.
Yes you can still enjoy your access to local discounts once you have spent the funds on your Mastercard as long as you have kept the card to show in store and it is still within the expiry date.
